I have such great memories of Jim, both from working with him in his role as a teacher at LFCC, and from time we spent together in our art group! He was always an inspiration, and with such a great sense of humor!

While I was teaching English as an adjunct at Lord Fairfax Community College, Jim gave me cuttings from his special white lilac bush. He was so excited for me because I was moving to Texas to be near my grandchildren. "Plant these in a select spot, because they're really unique," he said. I did, and I will continue to think of Jim every time I enjoy the lilac bushes.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Big Jim's sudden passing. My memories are rich....whenever he would stop into the dean's office and we would share stories of family, education, adventures and anything else that might pop up. He was charming, vibrant, and loved to teach. My deepest sympathies to the entire family and to my former colleague Jim Brumbaugh and his wonderful family.

Jim and Family - during my time working at Lord Fairfax, Big Jim was always one of my favorite people to come across. I know his family was a source of great pride and I'm sorry for your loss.

Heaven gained another special angel.. Mr B.- My amazing professor who taught me more than just college english. He taught me about the importance of education, politics, family and of course Panera Bread! I will miss hearing about his amazing life adventures. He was truly a man of many talents. As heartbreaking as this is, I'm SO honored to have known him and been someone he shared his wisdom with. He made such a positive impact in my life and I'm forever thankful we crossed paths so long ago! My son will one day hear all about you!
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
