James E. “Jimmy” Alexander
Mr. James. E. Alexander, 85, of Winchester, Virginia, died April 14, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Alexander was born in 1925 in Marlboro, Virginia, the son of the late William Denson Alexander and Nora Alice Alexander. He was a retired manager from A&P in Winchester, Virginia after 31 years of service. He graduated from Stephens City High School, Class of 1942.
Mr. Alexander was a Veteran having served in World War II and was honorably discharged on May 30, 1946.
Mr. Alexander married Jeannette Racey on November 24, 1949.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter Kathryn E. Alexander and a son James D. Alexander both of Winchester, Virginia,
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Michael, Joann Partlow and two brothers, Charles Alexander and Bill Alexander .
Pallbearers will be Franklin P. Racey, Charles W. Racey, Joseph H. Racey, Loris “Jack” Racey, Benjamin M. Butler and Tyler B. Butler.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 12:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia with the Reverend Anthony Wadsworth and Reverend Hung Su Lim Officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, with Military Honors by VFW Post 2123, Winchester, Virginia.
Family will receive friends on Monday, from 11:00-12:00, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant – Lamps United Methodist Church, 118 Pebblebrook Lane, Winchester, Virginia.
