J.D. Huff
James David “J.D.” Huff, 64, of Frederick County, Virginia, went to be with his heavenly father on Friday, March 22, 2013.
Mr. Huff was born in 1948, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late James Harvey Lee Huff and Clergie Neioma Huff. He was a former Behavioral Counselor for Timber Ridge School and ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) in Hagerstown, Maryland. Mr. Huff was a Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps, during the Viet Nam Conflict, achieving the rank of LCpl.
Mr. Huff was a member of the American Legion Post #21; lifetime member of the VFW Post #2123, Winchester Eagles Aerie #824 and the Winchester Moose Lodge #1283.
He married his life-long soul mate, Sharon Lineburg, on June 16, 1989, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are his four-legged children, Redmond David Huff, Diesel Blu Huff and Molly Sue Huff; daughter, Caprice Dowell and husband, Jeff, of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; son, James David Huff, Jr., and wife, Christi, of Franklin, North Carolina; daughter, Shiloh Kensinger of Altoona, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Shasta Minton, Jessica Karstetter, Elijah Glynn Huff, Matilee Rose Huff; and three great grandchildren.
Additional surviving family members include his brother-in-law, Jimmy Lineburg “Tooter” and his wife, Janie; niece, P.J. Lineburg, sister-in-law and caregiver, “Nurse Ratchett” Debbie Bateman and husband, Tony, special cousin, June Combs and husband, Wayne “Jap”; mother-in-law, Edith Lineburg “Chubby”, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many devoted friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his four-legged child, Killer Marie Huff; one brother and one sister.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1:00-3:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Micheal Brandon officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Mausoleum, with Military Honors afforded by VFW Post 2123.
Pallbearers will be Terry Knouse, Allen Smallwood, Marvin Rogers, Donald Finley, Davy Herrell, Wayne Combs, and Tommy Kipps.

The Huff family would like to acknowledge the many expressions of kindness from friends and family over the past several years and especially over the past few difficult days. J.D. loved all of you dearly and we do too.
