James Arthur Elliott, (Buckwheat) 76 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at his home.
James was born in 1946 in Gore, VA, the son of the late Thomas and Sadie Elliott. He worked as a mechanic in the auto industry.
He is survived by his wife Dian Elliott of Stephens City; daughters, Heather Hartley of Stephens City, VA, Rebecca Elliott of Capon Bridge, WV; son, Matthew Elliott of Miami, FL; 6 grandchildren Logan Hartley, Riley Hartley, Hannah Elliott, Gracie Elliott, Braydon Elliott, Layla Elliott and sister, Shelva Elliott Fitzgerald.
James loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He loved to work on any type of car he could fix anything. But he loved old cars. You would always find him at a car show. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger days. Every Sunday he would be in his chair in front of the T.V. watching the NASCAR race, he loved Bill Elliott. He loved his fried chicken, candy and pickled sausage’s. You could catch him up in the middle of the night eating his chocolate. His favorite holiday was Christmas. He would never let anyone do without even if he didn’t have it to give to them he would find a way. James was a comedian and always kept everyone laughing. You never knew what was going to come out of his mouth. He loved his hometown in Gore, VA and his Daddy more than anything. James was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. James is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Russell Elliott, Andrew (Poss) Elliott and Jinker Elliott
