J. Alan Sloan
James Alan Sloan, 56, of Inwood, West Virginia, formerly of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, November 14, 2011, in his home.
Mr. Sloan was born in 1955, in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Annette Whitley and the late Lamar Sloan. He was formerly employed at Fisher Auto Parts and Lamar Sloan Ford. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1973.
His wife, Sue Ellen Leight Sloan whom he married in April 4, 1980, in Winchester, Virginia, preceded him in death on March 1, 1999.
Surviving with his mother of Strasburg, Virginia, are two sons, Matthew Alan Sloan and his wife, Sara, Brian Douglas Sloan and his wife, Catherine, all of Inwood, West Virginia; daughter, Nancy Jane Elizabeth Sloan and her Fiancé, Patrick Bell, of Berryville, Virginia; four grandchildren, Hayden, Addison, Christopher and Logan; and his brother, Douglas L. Sloan of Strasburg, Virginia.
One brother, David Brian Sloan, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Monday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with The Reverend Dr, Rose Wayland officiating, Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Monday, prior to the service, from 1:00-3:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
