Jake Emory Shifflett was born August 5, 1935, in Fairfax, VA and passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 88 years of age.

Jake was the loving husband of Frances Agnes Shifflett since June 25, 1955. This year they would have celebrated 69 years of marriage.

He was a devoted father of Robert E. Shifflett, Randall E. Shifflett, Richard E. Shifflett, Russell E. Shifflett, Angela K. Shifflett and Roderick E. Shifflett as well as the cherished Pappy to all 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 foster children and the many children Jake and his wife (Nanny) loved and cared for like their own through their in home day care which operated for over 28 years.

Along with his parents, Jake is preceded in death by his sons, Robert and Richard and his granddaughter, Jenny Shifflett.

Jake was the son of Jake and Velma Shifflett and the oldest brother of 11 children.

Jake and his wife Frances were devoted members of Winchester Church of God since 1996. Jake always put God first, was a dedicated Christian and praised God in Jesus’ name, even in his final hours.

Jake was an inspiration to all who knew him and was cherished by many.

A visitation will be held for Jake on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 10am with a service to follow at 11am, all held at Winchester Church of God. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
