Jacob L. “Jake” Woodall, 86, of Frederick County, VA, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Blue Ridge Care.
Mr. Woodall was born in 1940 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Noble and Susanna Woodall. He earned an Associate Degree from New York State Ranger School of Forestry (SUNY). After 60 years of dedicated service in the hardwood lumber industry he retired from P.W. Plumly Lumber in Winchester after 18 years as the Operations Manager. Mr. Woodall was a member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association and a veteran of the National Guard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing (where he was considered an expert fisherman) and loved anything outdoors. He also coached Little League Baseball.
Surviving with his wife of 54 years, Gloria, is a daughter, Shirley “Dawn” Woodall; sons, Jacob Travis Woodall (Brandi) and Eric Woodall (Gina); grandchildren, Melanie, Andrew, Ivana, Lily, and Bailey; two great grandchildren; sister Carol Haker; and brothers, Brent Woodall and Noble “Jim” Woodall.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Louise Smith, Suzanne Demski, and Wilmer Woodall.
A visitation will be from 2:30 pm to 3 pm on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a service to follow at 3 pm. Rev. Steven Melester will be officiating.
