Thoughts and prayers from the Devers family. Such great memories of Jacki as we were growing up in Fairfax City. Jacki and Mike were wonderful friends to our parents, Barbara and Dick Devers. Jacki kept us laughing all the time!! Hopefully, the many memories she created will help you smile each day when you think of her. She was truly a one-of-a-kind gem!

I cannot believe that Jacki is no longer with us, wife, mother, daughter, friend and dear relative. She was so full of life, dedicated to her family and friends. She was so much to so many people. Our world will not be the same without her. We were the only two grandchildren of an Irish immigrant family from rural New Hampshire. Our life paths have been very different but a strong bond has been formed by our shared heritage.. My sympathy goes out to her family and dear friends.

Teri Schrettenbrunner left a message on May 7, 2020:
There are people whose light seems to shine a bit brighter than the rest. People who are special who never fail to entertain, who listen in the darkest moments, who educate through action and who help when life inevitably is unfair. Jacki is one of those special people. As I write this, I can see her cocking one eye and saying "Well...isn't thaaat special", in her best Dana Carvey. Her memory had no bounds, and her wit was always on point. She could easily weave into a conversation something absurd I did back in the day and, in recounting it, made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe. Jacki came into my life at a time when I was a young manager and needed guidance. In the most trying of moments, she always helped me see the lighter side of things. She had that incredible ability to put things into real perspective, to make them all seem manageable. Her glass was always half full and there was enough in it to always share with others. I remember thinking when I first visited her at home, that she really knew how to live. Her home was often a frenzy of people singing and dancing. I learned the words to "Oklahoma" there, how to decorate for Christmas, and how to appreciate slipping on the Newf's drool because Marr gave such great hugs. Her banter with Mike helped me get what a real marriage was supposed to be. And her straight-forward discussions with her kids taught me that you could be a mother and a friend. Jacki taught me to accept people for who their heart said they were, nothing else mattered. She helped all people understand their full worth. So, there was always a new family member to meet who had been welcomed into her home. I admired Jacki because she lived vibrantly and with a loving spirit. She has made a difference for many, including me and she will forever be part of my heart. To her family -- for whom she drew every breath -- there is no way to measure the pride she had for all of you and the love she felt. I could recount hundreds of stories of things you each did that brought her pure joy. I hope that in the days that lie ahead, you will find hope and solace in thousands of memories she created with and for you. Jacki was one of a kind. My love to her and to all of her family. Thank you for sharing her with me.

I don't even know where to start, other than the fact that I've never in my lifetime nor will I ever be blessed to know such an unique individual as Aunt Jackie.. I can remember my mom ,dad and us going over to their house, vise versa or going out, and the crazy fun we would all have.. I also will never forget the huge help she was to me after losing Andy, she helped me to pull myself together and put on my "big girl pants" sending all the love and prayers to the family... I love you all!!

She was a beautiful inside as she was outside. I will always remember how she took my family & I into her family. She was God Mother to my son & so much more to the rest of my family. She was the Grandmother my kids didn’t have. Mother, friend, confidant & guiding influence in my life. I am so very fortunate to have known her love. The years have gone by swiftly. Miles & life have caused physical distance, however she was never far from my thoughts. My life has been richer with her in it. ??????
