Reverend Isaac Lee Luttrell age 92 went to be with Jesus at his home in Gore, VA on March 28, 2026. Born in Fredrick Co. VA on October 31, 1933, the son of Norman Paul Luttrell and Agnes Larrick Luttrell. Isaac went to Annandale Elementary and Warren Co. Schools.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Anna Mae Ashby on April 14, 1989, one brother, Donald: three sisters, Bernice, Alice, Mary, and one son-in-law Sal Giunta
He is survived by his wife Diane Luttrell of 31 years; four daughters: Vicky Hedrick (Larry), of Petersburg, WV, Jeanne Jones (Paul) of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Peggy Giunta of Lutz, FL, and Darcy Trice of Winchester, VA; ten grandchildren, Jesse Hedrick, Valerie Hedrick, David Earnest, Emma Earnest, Donnie Culp (Tara) Derik Culp (Laura) Sarah Caster(Michael), Tyler Trice, Christy Trice and Patrick Trice. Isaac had 12 great grandchildren.
He is survived by one brother Jimmie Luttrell (Carol) of Front Royal, VA, four sisters: June Maxey of North Port, FL, Ramona Delafe of Berryville, VA, Ruth Riga (Tony) of Elizabeth, WV, Mollie Hillegas of Quakertown, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
He entered the U.S. Navy at 17 and was a veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS 2250 class destroyer. Isaac was an accomplished life-long musician, guitar player, singer, and song writer, playing in many bands and earning the nickname “Hank” for his similarity to country musician Hank Snow. He proudly sang and played on the Grand Ole Opry Midnight Jamboree.
He was a self-motivated man of many talents, who over the course of his life, engaged in many endeavors and vocations among which was designing and building his own house (The Ranch) and having his own printing business (The Bluebird Press). He was born again in March 1970. Isaac became a licensed minister serving several area churches. He was a beekeeper and had a passion for machinery and math. He took pride in working on his own vehicles and equipment. Isaac had a natural proclivity for humor and wit and was a never-ending well of jokes, quips, puns, anecdotes and Bible verses. Isaac was always motivated by the blessed hope of eternal life with Jesus and unreservedly sharing it with others.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 10am with a service to be conducted at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Pine Grove UMC Cemetery, 2833 Green Spring Road, Winchester. Officiating will be Pastor James Dyche and Carloyn Martin. After the burial a reception will be held at Bethany Hill Baptist Church.
