Ian Alexander Wrobel

Ian Alexander Wrobel, 14, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away, Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Winchester Medical Center.

Ian was born in 1996 in Amherst, New York, the son of William Wrobel of Stephens City, Virginia and Michele Aileen Wrobel of Kenmore, New York. He was an 8th grade student at Admiral Byrd Middle School and a member of Church of Christ at Mountain View.

Surviving with his parents is a sister, Rebecca M. Wrobel; and two brothers, William A. Wrobel, III and Kyle A. Wrobel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Associate Evangelist Brian Dicken officiating. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Greco Funeral Home, 2909 Elmwood Avenue, Kenmore, New York.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friends will also be received on Tuesday, November 2nd at Greco Funeral Home, 2909 Elmwood Avenue, Kenmore, New York from Noon to 2 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made Church of Christ at Mountain View, In Memory of Ian Wrobel, 153 Narrow Lane, Winchester, Virginia 22602.

Ian and I have known each other since sixth grade. He had become one of my best friends throughout these years. One of my favorite memories of him was from around 3 weeks ago. Ian and I were walking through his neighborhood, him wearing no shoes, and only socks, listening to music and just talking and laughing. I miss his voice and his cheerful laugh. I wish I had more time to speak with him, we shared many of the same interests. I'll miss him.
