Herman L. Aikens

Herman Lee Aikens, 89, of Winchester, Virginia, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Aikens was born in 1921, in Gerrardstown, West Virginia, the son of the late (Mr. and Mrs.) Aikens. He was retired from H&W Construction. Mr. Aikens was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy.

He married Martha Jewel in 1964.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Virginia Joyce Williams and her husband, Dennis of Winchester, Virginia, Chonta Renee Stickel and her husband, Bruce of Strasburg, Virginia, three grandchildren, Darren Wayne Williams, Dakota Scott Stickel and Ciera Nicole Stickel; and two great grandchildren.

One son, Nelson Lee Aikens, and eight brothers and sisters, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be private.

The family will receive friends and family on Sunday afternoon, from 2:00-4:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
