Henry Kerfoot Peyton, Sr., 84 of Winchester, Virginia passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at his home in Winchester.
Henry was born in 1941 in Clarke County, VA, the son of the late Henry and Sarah Peyton. He was a graduate of James Wood High School where he was a member of the Marching Band. Henry retired after 30+ years of service as a Route Salesman for Shenandoah Pride Dairy Company. In his younger years he was a member of Boyce Baptist Church. Henry enjoyed going to the Winchester Senior Center, spending time with his family and would become friends with anybody he would meet. After his retirement, Henry drove the school bus for Frederick County Public Schools and then he drove the WRE Bus in Winchester which he absolutely loved.
He married Kathryn Bailey on October 6, 1961, in Hagerstown, MD and she preceded him in death on April 13, 2022.
Henry is survived by his sons, Henry Peyton, Jr. (Karin) and Richard Peyton, Sr. (Denise); grandchildren, Letasha Ann Hottle, Heather Rochelle Peyton, Richard Stoffer Peyton, Jr., great-grandchildren, Peyton and Hope Frazier, step-grandchildren, Richard Carlson, Michael Carlson and step great-grandson, Benjamin Beatty.
In addition to his parents and wife, Henry is preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Branham, Mary Nixon and his brother, Beverly Peyton.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 12:30pm with a service to follow at 1:30pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
