Helen Theresa Ward Mazzoli, 88, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, January 11, 2016, at Greenfield Senior Living in Stasburg, Virginia.

Mrs. Mazzoli was born in 1927, in Kingston, New York, the daughter of the late Edward P. and Marie Ward. She was a graduate of Cortland State Teachers College receiving a Bachelor’s of Education Degree. Mrs. Mazzoli was a retired Elementary School Teacher at Walter C. Black Elementary School in Hightstown, New Jersey. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester, Virginia as well as Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hightstown, New Jersey. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be forever remembered for her passion of faith, teaching and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her husband, Alfred J. Mazzoli, whom she married on August 13, 1950, in Kingston, New York, preceded her in death on January 8, 2013.

Surviving are her sons, Charles E. Mazzoli of Danville, Virginia, Raymond M. Mazzoli of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Michael A. Mazzoli and wife, Cindy, of Winchester, Virginia, Christopher P. Mazzoli and wife, Cathy, of Hightstown, New Jersey; 3 grandchildren and her brother, Edward J. Ward of Cortland, New York as well as many extended family members and close friends.

One son, John F. Mazzoli, as well as several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 4:00-5:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia and Friday, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Hightstown, New Jersey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Hightstown, New Jersey with Father Tony Ramos officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown, New Jersey.
