Helen Anne Poli (Kramer), 85, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at The Willows at Meadow Branch in Winchester, VA.
Born on July 7, 1940, in Scranton, PA, Helen was the daughter of the late Theodore and Adeline (Hamm) Kramer. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse in the Health Care industry, retiring after many years of service as a Director of Geriatric Assisted Care. She also served as a delegate and voice for her coworkers on the Health Care and Service Workers Union 1199. She had a long history of volunteer work everywhere she lived, including serving on the Leadership Team for the volunteers at Prince William Hospital as well as Novant Health Haymarket Medical Center.
Helen was a woman of deep faith and a devout Catholic and was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville, VA, then at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader, and loved Bible study.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Paul Poli, whom she married on April 28, 1962, in Scranton, PA. Arthur passed away on January 1, 2026.
Helen is survived by her children: sons, Robert “Bob” Poli (Kim), John Poli (Christine), and daughter, Victoria “Vicki” Valyear (Scott); her six cherished grandchildren: Ashley (Seth), Alex (Cameron), Jonathan (Nicole), Lauren (Trevor), Kevin (Myranda), and Nicole; and four great-grandchildren: Cade, Colston, Otto, and Frederick; and her sister, Joan Kramer.
A joint Celebration of Life for Helen and her late husband Arthur will be held at a later date.
