Hattie L. Welsh

Hattie Louise Bowman Welsh, 85, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, in Strasburg, Virginia.

Mrs. Welsh was born in 1927, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late William Fuller and Minnie Rebecca Bowman. She was a Homemaker and a member of Valley Bible Church, Stephens City. She was a member of the Disabled Americans Veterans Ladies Auxiliary.

She married Lawrence Ray Welsh on November 25, 1942, in Hagerstown, Maryland. Mr. Welsh preceded her in death on January 29, 2005.

Surviving is her daughter, Cynthia Joy King and her husband, Dale, of Stephens City, sons, Lawrence Fuller Welsh and wife, Betty Jo, of Lakeland, Florida, Allen Ray Welsh and wife, Sherry, of Stephens City, two grandchildren; one great granddaughter, and her sister, Goldie Shuler of Winchester.

One sister, Elsie Bayliss and three brothers, Allen Bowman, Myrle Kipps, Clyde Bowman and a grandson, Sean Wesley Welsh preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, at Valley Bible Church with Pastor Calvin Lowder officiating. Interment will be in Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Valley Bible Church, 578 Double Church Road, Stephens City, Virginia.
