Harry Lee Clayton, 79, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Clayton was born in 1939, in Burlington, West Virginia, the son of the late Myrtle C. Dove and Harry Clayton. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Clayton was a retired employee of Bearing Distributors. He was a former supervisor with Capitol Records and also with Century Graphics. He was also a former Machinery Mechanic with Green Bay Packaging. Mr. Clayton was a member of the Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Winchester, Virginia.
He married Anna Marie VanMeter on May 9, 1986, in Winchester, Virginia. She preceded him in death on October 16, 2018.
Surviving is his daughter, Karen Clayton of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina; sons, Kevin Clayton (Jerri-Ann) of Winchester, Virginia, Dennis Clayton (Tammy) of Concord, North Carolina; Larry VanMeter of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Isis Clayton, Aeris Clayton, Ezra Clayton, Derek VanMeter, all of Winchester, Virginia, and Jacob Shackelford and Zachary Clayton of Concord, North Carolina; two great grandchildren; and sister, Hattie Sowers, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia.
Along with his wife and parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Martha Clinedinst and brother, James Clayton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Minister Roy Riley officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Frederick County, Virginia.
