Harriet Natalia (Benson) Richardson
Harriet Natalia (Benson) Richardson, 88, of Winchester, Virginia, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 25, 1926, the daughter of the late Harry O. and Mary (Blake) Benson. Harriet’s brother, 2nd Lt. Sidney A. Benson-AAC, was co-pilot of “Little Warrior” in WW11. She will be interned with mother, father, and brother in Marblehead, MA later this summer.
She loved the water and the outdoors. Growing up in Marblehead MA, she spent her younger years at the ocean and her adult life on fresh water in the Lakes Region of NH. She worked for many years at Burlwood Antiques in Meredith, NH and was well known for her “collections” purchased over the years. Harriet’s unique sense of humor and outlook on life will always be remembered with love and smiles by her family and dear friends. Her favorite pastime since moving to Virginia seven years ago, was bird watching and sitting on the patio enjoying the “outdoor” months with her daughter and son-in-law. She will be greatly missed by those that loved her.
Harriet is survived by her daughter Sydney Beck Watkins and husband, John; her son, Kenneth R. Beck and wife, Judy; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Beck, Corey Beck, Garrett Beck, Angela Lianos, Scott K. Rolfe, Derek A. Lianos, Caroline Hogan, Johnny Watkins, and Janell Watkins; and eleven great grandchildren.
