Susan Howard left a message on November 18, 2023:
My condolences to Harold's family and friends. I am not a Winchester native but Harold always treated me like an old friend. One winter, when we'd had a bad snow, he was opened and my little son was sick, and needed his meds. Harold told me to come on up and I did, and I was so thankful. He was the first pharmacist that I ever saw use blue bottles and since blue is my favorite color, that was pretty cool. I continued to have prescriptions filled there. Harold always had stories to share with me, and he shared some Patsy stories with me too. He showed me where the canteen was and where she worked, and also, some unused cosmetics from that time that sat on a shelf behind a locked glass door. He was a bird and I love to laugh, so, in my mind, he was a good soul. Every time I have to pass the Gaunt's bldg., the nostalgia really hits me. Rest in peace, Harold. You are missed.

Sending prayers hugs and love to the family. God Bless. Mr. Doc Madagan will truly be missed all the history he could tell you about and all his achievements he had made in his life are truly amazing. Seen and talked to him last year at a picnic at Stacey’s and he was the sweetest. Also about 5 years ago his picture was in the paper about the Apple Blossom Parade and all the Blossom Pins he had collected through the years and the knowledge he shared . I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him but the time you spent with him will have a last affect on you. Mr. Doc Madagan you were an amazing legend to your community, loved by so many , you will be truly missed my friend. God Bless.
