Grace W. Sears

         Grace Margarette Walter Sears, 85, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Thursday, January 1, 2015, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center, Winchester, Virginia.

         Mrs. Sears was born in 1929, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Louis and Wilhelmina Walter.  She was a loving and caring wife and mother and later became an elementary school librarian in Eugene, Oregon. After her retirement she and her husband returned to Pennsylvania where she volunteered at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

         She married Victor Wilson Sears, Sr., on December 7, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He preceded her in death on August 22, 2006.

         Surviving is her daughter, Brenda Ann Sears of West End, North Carolina; sons, Dr. Victor Wilson Sears, Jr. and his wife, Dr. Judith Sears of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Dr. Richard John Sears and wife, Elizabeth Sears, of Winchester, Virginia; four grandchildren, Christine Elizabeth Sears, Lauren Catherine Sears, Abigail Catherine Sears and Victor Anthony Sears.

         One sister, Dorothy Walter and three brothers, Louis, George and Norman Walter, preceded her in death.

         A service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Opequon Presbyterian Church, Frederick County, Virginia.
