Grace E. Baker
Grace Elizabeth Baker, age 85, of Berryville, Virginia, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Baker was born in 1931 in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Iva Pearl Braithwaite. She was a homemaker and stay at home mother to her four children.

Grace married Joseph W. Baker, Sr. on July 19, 1949 in Berryville, Virginia. He preceded her in death in 2013.

Grace is survived by a daughter, Joyce A. Jackson(David) of Berryville: three sons, Steven Baker (Nancy), Joseph “Billy” Baker, Jr., and Ronald A. Baker(Wilma); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and three brothers, William, Harry, and Charles Braithwaite. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Theda Willingham and Martha Tomblin and her brothers, Ronald and Robert Braithwaite.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Omps Amherst Chapel with Pastor Jim Holt officiating. Interment will be private. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Omps Reception Center.
