Gordon O. Dodson, Jr.

Gordon Ollie Dodson, Jr., 52, of Berryville, Virginia, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Dodson was born on June 16, 1959, in Washington, D.C., the son of Nancy L. Dodson of White Post, Virginia and the late Gordon O. Dodson, Sr. He was an HVAC Service Tech with GSSN. Mr. Dodson was a former member and Past Governor of Winchester Moose Lodge 1283. He was a graduate of Falls Church High School, Class of 1977.

He married Donna Snow on June 22, 2002, in White Post, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife is a son, Kenny Davis and wife, Diana, of Tysons Corner, Virginia; step-son, Matthew DeHaven of Berryville, Virginia; step-daughter, Shannon Jenkins and husband, Jamie, of Winchester, four grandchildren, Kaylee and Krista Davis, Landon Heath, Brayden Berg; his siblings, George D. Dodson of Burlington, North Carolina, Deborah A Fary and husband, Ray, of Sterling, Virginia, William F. Dodson of Winchester, Virginia; nephews, Brent and Kyle Fary and Dean Dodson. Brother-in-law, Paul Snow, Jr., wife, Linda, and nephew, Troy, of Berryville, Virginia.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 23, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Roy Riley officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Oliver, Butch Tharp, Jimmy Debruyn, Bill Flesher, George Riley and Lee Norton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, from 2:00-5:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Avenue, Suite B, Winchester, Virginia 22601 or Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
