Gordon G. Larrick
Gordon G. Larrick 85, of Winchester, VA, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in the Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center in Richmond, VA.
He was born to William and Vera Larrick in High View, West Virginia on May 30th 1928.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia M. Larrick and a brother, Wendell A. Larrick. He is survived by his daughter, Laura A. Larrick of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Mabel Davis and Joyce Rauch and her husband, of Winchester and a brother, Phillip Larrick and his wife, of Hagerstown, MD.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Clevenger Larrick and three, step-sons, Darwyn, Irvin and Wayne and their wives, along with many nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
He graduated from Capon Bridge High School in 1945. He served in the military during the Korean War and later in the Army Reserves. He was member of the Timber Ridge Christian Church and the American Legion Post #21.
He retired from the National Fruit Product Company after driving a tractor trailer for over forty years and received an award for being a “Million Mile Safe Driver” along with other driving achievements. He continued to work part-time for National Fruit and Penske Truck Rental until he was 80 years old.
A Memorial Service will be held at Omps Funeral Home at 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester VA, on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 11am. Interment will be at a later date.
