Gordanna F. Thompson, 79, of Winchester, VA, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at her home. She was born March 10, 1944, in Boyce, VA the daughter of the late Richard Fletcher and Anna Lou (Shepherd) Flynn.
Gordanna was a graduate of James Wood High School and was a member of Valley Bible Church in Stephens City. She was very involved with activities at her church as well as the Ruritan Club of Clarke Co. She enjoyed going camping with her grandchildren and riding horses with her husband.
She married Charles Jackie Thompson Sr. on December 9, 1962, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on December 19, 2014.
She is survived by her daughter Melany Yeatras (Stavro); her son Charles “Charlie” Thompson Jr. (Cindy); four grandchildren Jordan Greene (Malinda), Jared Thompson, Josh Thompson (Paige) and Cleo Yeatras; three great grandchildren Kylie, Brynlee, and Ellie; sisters Linda Carter and Susan Fahnestock (Jeff); brother Bobby Fletcher (Billie); sister-in-law, Barbara Fletcher; many loving nieces and nephews; her canine companion Ben and her feline companion Annie.
In addition to her parents and her husband Jackie, Gordanna was also preceded in death by her two brothers Dickie and Conway Fletcher.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Friday, January 19, 2024, from 10am until her Funeral Service at 11am at the Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Smith from Valley Bible Church. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jordan Greene, Jared Thompson, Josh Thompson, and Cleo Yeatras, and then family friends, Matt Riley, Tyler Riley, and John “Boy” Boyd.
