Gloria Dean Baker, 83, of White Post, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Baker was born in 1934, in Middletown, Virginia, the daughter of the late Leonard W. and Gladys M. Henson. She worked at Byrd’s Cannery. Gloria attended Liberty Baptist Church in Stephens City, Virginia.
Gloria married Samuel Franklin Baker on December 15, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2009.
Gloria is survived by sons, Roger Baker, Robert Baker, both of White Post, Virginia, Wayne Baker of Winchester, Virginia, and David Baker; daughters, Kathy Arthur of White Post, Virginia, Shirley Dillon of Middletown, Virginia, and Susie Baker of Winchester, Virginia; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Mitchell of Alabama; and brother, Leonard Henson, Jr. of Romney, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria is preceded in death by a son, Richard Baker, a daughter, Bonnie Anderson, one grandchild, sisters, Dorothy Swiridow and Peggy Larrick, and brothers, Daniel and Carson Henson.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 3rd at Omps, South Chapel.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 4th at 1:00 pm at South Chapel with Pastor Jackie Battles officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Randy Long, James Baker, Rob Baker, Timmy Neff, Brandan Warner, and Rex Hanes.
