Glenden Lee Wisecarver “Glen”, 87, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at his home.
Mr. Wisecarver was born April 5, 1928, in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of the late Lovell and Beatrice Wisecarver. He was a veteran having served in the Air Force and the National Guard. Mr. Wisecarver was a truck driver for over 31 years employed by Associated Transport, Time DC and later retiring from Consolidated Freight Ways. He was a member of Stonewall Ruritan Club for 31 years, the National Rifle Association, Winchester Frederick County Conservation Club and Teamsters Retirees Union #29.
Mr. Wisecarver enjoyed woodworking, going to rodeos, raising cattle on his farm, but mostly spending time with his family.
He married Dorothy Jean Robinson on June 18, 1948, in Stephenson, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are his children, Linda Vickrek, Steven Wisecarver and wife Sharon, Jeffrey Wisecarver and wife Teresa and Sam Snapp and husband Wayne; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
His son, Gregory Wisecarver, two grandsons and his brother, Darrell Wisecarver, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Aaron Fitch officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
