Glen E. “Eddie” Tomblin
Glen Edward “Eddie” Tomblin, 65, of Winchester, VA, died Friday, June 25, 2010 in the Winchester Medical Center. He was born in 1945 in Berryville, VA, the son of the late Glen Harris Tomblin and Mary Catherine Tomblin.
Mr. Tomblin was a product engineer for Rubbermaid for twenty-two years, at Melnor for six years, and had worked in patient transport at the Winchester Medical Center until his retirement in 2008. He graduated from Clarke County High School in 1963, attended Virginia Tech, and served in the Virginia National Guard. He was also an avid HAM radio operator.
He married Sally Ann Whiting Tomblin on August 14, 1971 in Berryville, VA.
Surviving with his wife are three children, Amy Elizabeth Henkel and her husband, John, of Fredericksburg, VA, Lori Kathryn Omps and her husband, James, of Las Vegas, NV, and John Edward Tomblin of Winchester, VA; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Kaitlyn, Becca, Megan and Emily, and a brother, James H. Tomblin and his wife, Joann F. of Frederick County, VA.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Reverend Kristin Whitesides officiating.
The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
