Geraldine “Jerri” Louise Reppert, 94, of Lake Frederick, Virginia passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Winchester, Virginia.
Mrs. Reppert was born in 1922 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Marion R. and Craig E. Helman, Sr. She graduated from Penn High School in Greenville, Pennsylvania and Douglas Business College in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Reppert briefly worked for Wander Sales in Charleroi, Pennsylvania where she was a Credit Manager. However, most of her life was spent being a loving homemaker for her family. Her most treasured time was spent on the family farm, Reppert’s Ranch, in Centerville, Pennsylvania for 35 years. She was a member of Deemston Grange in Centerville, Pennsylvania and active member of Centerville United Methodist Church in Centerville, Pennsylvania. Later in life, Mrs. Reppert became a very active member at Pender United Methodist Church in Fairfax, Virginia, where she lived with her daughter’s family. She enjoyed taking care of her home, loved cooking and working crossword puzzles, as well as spending time with her family. Mrs. Reppert was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during WWII, achieving the rank of Specialist 3rd Class (C). In honor of her service, she is a part of the Women’s Memorial in Arlington, Virginia.
Her husband, Paul Thurman Reppert, whom she married on December 29, 1943 at her parents’ home in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, preceded her in death on November 25, 2000.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara J. Reppert (Jane Scrip) of Estero, Florida and Pocasset, Massachusetts and Carole A. Wilson (Michael) of Lake Frederick, Virginia; grandchildren, Dr. Shawn M. Wilson (Melissa) of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Jessica L. Ruggiero of Bristow, Virginia; great grandchildren, Carolina “Gracie”, Carter, and Caleb Wilson of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Gianna Ruggiero of Bristow, Virginia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Thurman, she was preceded in death by a beloved grandson, Jamie P. Wilson; twin brothers, Craig Ellsworth Helman, Jr. who died in infancy and Robert Joseph Helman who died while serving in the United States Air Force during WWII.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 6th, at 2 p.m. at Pender United Methodist Church, 12401 Alder Woods Drive, Fairfax, Virginia with Reverend Kenneth Newsome officiating. A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 8th in Belle Vernon Cemetery, 176 Tranquility Lane, Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.
