George W. Corbin “Bill”

George W Corbin “Bill” of Stephens City, VA, 78, died February 13, 2013, at Blue Ridge Hospice Center of Winchester, Virginia.

Born in 1934 in Romney, W.V., he was the son of the late Cecil R. and Bessie Corbin. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Howard Smith, Jack Corbin, and Russell Corbin and a sister, Naomi Nazelrod. Surviving are 3 sisters and a brother; Nancy and husband. Don Powell; Rosie and husband. Easton Bradley; Vada Strosnider, and Ted R. and wife, Sylvia Corbin.

He started driving a truck at age 14. Later, he drove for Super Service and retired from Time D.C. He was a member of the Local 29 Teamsters Union, and a member of Abundant Life Church located in Stephens City, Va. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending winters in Florida. He was known for his sense of humor, a kind and caring soul, and a warm and generous heart by all that loved and knew him.

Surviving him, “The Love of his Life”, his wife and partner, Magalene E. Peer for 61 years. Surviving are son, David L Corbin and daughter-in-law, Ann; daughter, Dinah A Nicholson and son-in-law, Glenwood; daughter, Linda S Daugherty and son-in-law, James; and daughter, Patricia C Banks. Preceded in death was a son, Robert A Corbin. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, 1600 Amherst St., Winchester, VA, on Friday, February 15, from 6-8pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Omps Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16, at 11 am with Interment at Ebenezer Cemetery in Romney, WV.
