George T. Bedway
George Thomas Bedway, 79, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Bedway was born in 1935, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of the late Nicholas T. and Angela O. Bedway. He was a 1957 graduate of West Liberty State College (now University), West Liberty, West Virginia, and named among the “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities”.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester where he was a member of the Choir since 1995 and considered them members of his family.
Mr. Bedway served in the U.S. Army as a Special Agent, U.S. Army Counterintelligence Corps (CIC) from 1957-1960. He then was employed by the Naval Investigative Service (now NCIS) from 1960 until his retirement in 1986. He last worked for a government contractor, MSM Securities as a Researcher, Counterintelligent Investigations and Division Head, serving from 1986 to 1995.
He married Margaret A. Taylor on May 9, 1959, in Dundalk, Maryland.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, his son, John Kennedy Bedway, daughter, Teresa Anne Cress and husband, Alan; grandchildren, Cecilia, Ryan, Matthew and Angela; and brothers, Daniel A. Bedway and Nicholas T. Bedway.
His daughter, Lisa Johnson, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends, prior to the service, on Friday, December 5, 2014, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 5, 2014, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia. Afterwards, refreshments will be served in Muldowney Hall at Sacred Heart Church.
