George Hugh Potter, 79, of Moorefield, WV passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Winchester Medical Center.
Affectionately known as Potter, he was born in 1941 in Mount Hope, WV, son of the late William and Gladys Potter. He graduated from Mount Hope High School, Class of 1959 and earned certification in the age of early technology from Temple College. Potter was a Computer Technology Supervisor at the National Institutes of Health, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his late father and friends. Potter was an avid fan of the Washington Nationals and Washington Capitals, was even a season ticket holder for the Capitals. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Barbara, and was a devoted husband and father. Potter was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church.
He married Barbara Joan Pack on May 28, 1961 in Washington, DC.
Surviving with his wife is a son, George Hugh Potter, II (Doreen) of Mechanicsville, PA.
Along with his parents, Potter was preceded in death by a brother, William G. Potter, Jr.
Per Potter’s wishes there will be no services. Arrangements will be handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
