George H. Schulz
George Herman Schulz, 83, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, March 12, 2012, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Schulz was born in Washington D.C. in 1928, the son of the late George R. and Mary Ann Schulz. He was an Electrician with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers retiring after 30 years of service. Mr. Schulz was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict.
He married Mildred Ann Matheny on February 7, 1953, in Washington D.C.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Clare L. Absher and Denise E. DePedro and husband Brian all of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina; sons, Dale K, Schulz of Middleburg, Vincent P. Schulz and wife Janice of Gainesville, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Lisa Schulz and husband, Lamont Silves, Josh Absher and wife, Leah, Casey Absher, Taylor Schulz, Andrew Schulz, Maria DePedro and Ana DePedro; brothers, Frank Schulz and wife, Doris of Tampa, Florida and Richard Schulz and wife, Shirley and brother-in-law, William Pease of Bonita Springs, Florida.
A grandson, Craig Schulz, son-in-law, Jeffrey Absher and sister, Patricia Pease, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Michael Dobbins officiating. A reception will follow the service at Cross Creek Community Center. Interment will Friday at 3:00 PM be in Middleburg Memorial Cemetery, Middleburg, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 5:00-7:00 PM, at Omps Funeral home, Amherst Chapel.
