Gaye Bateman Clark, 94 of Gainesboro, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.
Gaye was born on April 29, 1931, in Grayson County, VA, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Malinda Hash Bateman. She married Eugene E. Clark on October 16, 1948, in Hagerstown, MD. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2010.
She was a graduate of Gainesboro High School, Class of 1947 and a founding member and treasurer of Wesleyan Fellowship Church for over 30 years.
Gaye retired from McCrory’s Department Store after 46 years as Sales Supervisor. She enjoyed her family, especially their Sunday get-togethers.
She is survived by her daughter, Malinda Henkel (Bill); son, Wesley Clark (Tammy); grandchildren, Joshua Miller (Jennifer), Brittany Day (Richard) and Zachary Clark (Erin) and her three great-grandchildren, Noah, Emma and Bella Miller.
Along with her husband of 62 years, she was preceded in death by seven siblings.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 12pm with a service to follow at 1pm held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Glenn Welsh. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Miller, Zachary Clark, Richard Day, David Dill, Luther Dill and James Dill.
