Gavin Patrick Tylen, 22, of Stephens City, Virginia passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Frederick County, Virginia.
Gavin was born in 1996, in Alexandria, Virginia, the son of Ted and Missie Tylen of Stephens City, Virginia. Gavin was a graduate of Sherando High School. He was employed as an auto mechanic for Merchants/NTB. Gavin loved fishing, camping and was a gear head. Gavin loved his country and everything for which the flag stood for. Gavin was a loving uncle; he was very close to his sister Ashlyn. He was a good-hearted man who would do anything for his friends and family. He put everyone before himself. Gavin had a passion for automobiles and mechanics. He could always be found working under the hood of a car. Gavin had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh.
Surviving with his parents, Theodore and Christiane is a sister, Ashlyn Tylen of Stephens City, Virginia; a nephew Nathan Matthew Stevens; grandparents, Theodore Anthony Tylen, of Woodbridge, Virginia, Mark Fields, (Vicki) and Cindy Whitestone of Alexandria, Virginia.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 10 to noon at Macedonia United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Macedonia United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Mayton officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gavin’s memory may be made to First Bank Jacob Stevens Memorial Fund, 1835 Valley Ave., Winchester, VA, 22601. All of these contributions will be put into an account in Nathan’s name.
