Gary McClelland “Red” Dick, 78, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Saturday, January 18, 2014, in his home.
Mr. Dick was born in 1935, in Robertsdale, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Albert M. and Glendora L. Dick. He was a graduate of Warfordsburg High School, Class of 1953. Mr. Dick was a Heavy Equipment Operator with Buckley-Lages and L. F. Franklin Company, and formerly a truck driver for H. H. Omps in Winchester. He retired on May 25, 2004, from Apac Ashland, Inc. Mr. Dick was member of Burnt Cabins Presbyterian Church.
He married Judy Rosetta Foltz on February 20, 1954, in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Kathryn L. Sine and husband, John, of Inwood, West Virginia, Debra A. Dick of Stephens City, Virginia, Laura G. Thompson and husband, W.R., of White Post, Virginia, Sharon K. Dick of Unger, West Virginia; grandchildren, Timmy Fahnestock and wife, Stacey, Jamey Fahnestock and wife, Cristy, Samuel Sine, Michael Dick, Billy Ray Thompson and wife, Crystal; great grandchildren, Zachary Fahnestock, Anthony Fahnestock; his sisters, Marcia Keener of Dover, Pennsylvania, Mona Keebaugh of Wells Tannery, Pennsylvania, Judy Park of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Lana Park of York, Pennsylvania, Darcey MacNamara of Wellsville, Pennsylvania; brothers, Larry Dick of Hesston, Pennsylvania, and Kerry Dick of Orrtanna, Pennsylvania.
One sister, Roma Dick, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 4:00-6:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
