Gary J. Huth
Gary John Huth, 47, of Houston, Pennsylvania died Monday May 18, 2015 at the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Huth was born in 1968 in South Amboy, New Jersey, the son of Karen Baxter and the late Frank Sica. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in commercial and residential construction until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and fan of NASCAR (especially Jeff Gordon), and the Washington Redskins. Having a “collective soul”, he enjoyed collecting knives, guns and baseball memorabilia. Gary also greatly enjoyed music and was a classical rock guitarist. Some of his favorite songs were “Sweet Home Alabama”, “Drift Away”, and Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason.”
Surviving with his mother of Stephens City, VA is his former wife, Catherine Peterka Huth of Summit Point, WV, three daughters, Kimberly Krasavage (Raymond Porter) of Martinsburg, WV, Brittany Shipman (Luke) of Bruceton Mills, WV and Kristina Huth of Bunker Hill, WV; four grandchildren, Dylon Shipman, Abbie Shipman, Ashton Shipman and Liam Shipman, all of Bruceton Mills, WV; four sisters, Renee K. Smith (John W. Smith) of Stephens City, VA, Theresa Pingley (John Pingley) of New Market, VA, Carrie Baxter of Roseville, CA and Meredith Meller of Stephens City; a brother, Mark Huth (Cynthia) of Dillsburg, PA; his friend and companion, Ellen Lustic of Houston, PA: nieces, Karen, Samantha, Alyson, Makih, Stephanie, Amanda, Gianna, Courtney, Halie and Hannah, and nephews, Christopher, Dave, Nicholas, J.J., Trey, Morris, Stephen, Tadd, Craig, John Thomas, Kifer, Matthew, Paul, Tyler, and Brandon.
Mr. Huth was preceded in death by his step-father, John “Jay” Baxter.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Father Brendan Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
