Gary E. Snapp
Gary Eugene Snapp, 61, of Winchester Virginia passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 in Winchester Medical Center.
Gary was born in 1956, the son of Walter Eugene Snapp and the late Mary H. Snapp. Gary was a graduate of James Wood High School Class of 1974. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and his Master’s degree in Business from Shenandoah University. He was employed at Ecological Fibers Inc. of Lunenburg, Massachusetts. Gary was an active member at New Beginnings Community Church in Stephens City, Virginia.
He was a loving father and friend to many. He can be forever remembered for his love of faith, family and baseball. He was an avid outdoorsman who was passionate about the great outdoors and taking in the beauty of God’s creations. He loved fishing and hunting and was constantly eluded by “The Big One.” Gary had a story for every situation and he met no strangers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Liz Snapp of New Orleans, Louisiana and Meghan Snapp of Clear Brook, Virginia and his son, Evan Snapp of Winchester, Virginia as well as many extended family members and close friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Omps Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm at Omps funeral home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Dennis Sandretzky officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s memory to New Beginnings Community Church, 5029 Main Street, Stephens City, VA 22655, The American Cancer Society, 1833 Plaza Drive, Winchester, Virginia 22601 or Positive Alternative Radio, Inc., 145 Jackson St., NE, Blacksburg, VA 24060.
