Garland Lewis Campbell, Sr., passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, peacefully at home at the age of 85.

He was born on October 21, 1938, in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Paul Dewey Campbell, Sr. and Bessie Eunice Bell Campbell. Garland eloped and married the love of his life, Beverly Lewis Campbell on March 22, 1958. They shared 65 years building a life they loved.

Garland lived a full life as a wonderful husband, father, “Pop”, “Papal”, “Ba” and friend. He greatly enjoyed his time spent at the Coca – Cola Company and took great pride in his thirty-five-year service with the Federal Government. Garland loved to hunt, fish, and spend time on his tractors. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, who he made everlasting memories with that will be forever cherished.

Garland is survived by his daughter, Debra L. Koontz of Luray, VA; three grandchildren, Megan A. Hayes (Doug) of Stephens City, VA, Gabriel L. Campbell (Amy) of Stephens City, VA, and Samuel J.E. Koontz (Leah) of Winchester, VA; six great-grandchildren, Zachary D. Hayes, Abigail L. Hayes, Maddox R. Hayes, McKenzie A. Hayes, Liam L. Campbell, and Nora E. Campbell. He is also survived by a godson, Brian R. Trenum (Kristen) of Maurertown, VA and their four children, Julianna, Bailey, Coleson and Knox and a special friend, Jeffrey McDonald (Peggy), whom he loved like a son.

Garland is preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly L. Campbell and beloved son, Garland “Teddy” L. Campbell, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 2pm in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, VA.

The pallbearers will be Zachary Hayes, Abigail Hayes, Maddox Hayes, Gabriel Campbell, Samuel Koontz, and Brian Trenum.

Honorary pallbearers will be Megan Hayes, Doug Hayes, McKenzie Hayes, Liam Campbell, Nora Campbell, Julianna Trenum, Bailey Trenum, Coleson Trenum, Knox Trenum and Jeffrey McDonald.
