Frederick Michael Duda, 80 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Inspirit Hilltop in Winchester.
Fred was born in 1944 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Stanley and Bessie (Wiszcholek) Duda. He served our country in the United State Air Force being stationed in Guam. While living in Willow Springs, IL, Fred and his wife, Elisabeth were members of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church. Fred worked for Panasonic and later, as an IT Specialist for Insuresoft, from where he retired. He enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Burnham Harbor Yacht Club in Chicago. Fred enjoyed tending his garden and keeping his lawn immaculate – something he was very proud of. He was a George Jones and Ronald Reagan fan.
He married Elisabeth Th. Maria Lehnert on June 1, 1974, and she preceded him in death.
Fred is survived by his stepchildren, Marion Mich of Romney, WV, Georgetta Hughes of Romney, WV, Elizabeth Podsiadlo of Romney, WV and Matthew Anderson of Capon Bridge, WV; step-grandchildren, Benjamin, Christopher and Jeremy Mich, Katie Hughes, Hayley Spenceley, Betsy Podsiadlo, and Nate and Amelia Anderson, and Caleb and A.J. Boyce; step great-grandchildren, Winter Pearl Mich and Evelyn and Lucas Spenceley.
Along with his parents and wife, Fred is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Rochon.
Services for Fred will be private. He will be laid to rest next to his late wife at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
