Franklin A. Miles, 78, passed away January 23, 2017 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Miles was the son of the late Franklin T. and Natalie S. Miles of Chevy Chase, Maryland. Mr. Miles was born at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C. and raised in Chevy Chase. He graduated from Bullis Prep, attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Miles received his graduate degree from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. then began his accounting career in Washington, D.C. He later moved to the Northern Virginia area where he established his own accounting firm specializing in tax accounting for 35 years. In 2002 he relocated to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia where he semi-retired however continued to practice accounting on a part-time basis until his death.
Mr. Miles was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert S. Miles.
Surviving is his soul mate, partner and love of his life, Mary Ann Ait; daughters, Kara S. Dunn and husband, Michael; two granddaughters, Katelynn M. Dunn and Mary Julia Dunn; and a great grandson, his very special buddy, Jordan T. Smith; two Jack Russells, Annie and Lizzie.
At the request of Mr. Miles, his body was cremated and all services were private.
