Frank W. McDaniel

Frank W. McDaniel, wonderful husband, father and Christian man, 93, of Winchester, went home to Heaven on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. He passed away at Winchester Medical Center.

Frank was born on March 28, 1918 in Madison County, Virginia, the son of the late Kelly Dawson McDaniel and Bessie Shifflett McDaniel. He was one of nine children.

He worked as a supervisor at National Fruit for many years. He then worked at Abex for 34 years and retired in 1981. He had also worked at Marker-Miller Orchards part-time. He was a member of Calvary Church of the Brethren, and was a faithful, active member.

He married Peggy Miller on April 23, 1955 in Winchester.

Surviving with his wife is his one daughter, Lisa Mae Lambert and her husband, James C. “JC” Lambert of Winchester, and a sister, Irene McDaniel of Roanoke. Also surviving are many wonderful nieces, nephews and relatives.

He was preceded in death by seven sisters and brothers, James “Elvin” McDaniel, Lilly Coates, Lola Pitcock, Emma Shifflett, Hilda Washburn, Wilson McDaniel and Loring “Bobby” McDaniel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Calvary Church of the Brethren with Reverend Clarence Davis, Jr. and Reverend J. Floyd Wine officiating.

Entombment will be in the Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Roger McDaniel, Lewis McDaniel, John Haines, Steve Haines, Butch Creswell and Ronnie Wise.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
