Frank J. Miccio (CW4 US Army Ret.)
Frank Joseph Miccio, 89, of Frederick County, Virginia died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Miccio was born in 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Anthony and Maria Miccio. He was a graduate of New York University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in French and the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree in German. He was a CW4 in the United States Army, retiring after 23 years of service. Mr. Miccio served during World War II and Viet Nam War receiving a Purple Heart Medal. Mr. Miccio was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester, Virginia.
He married Mary Margaret Cricchio on September 2, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2003.
Surviving is his daughter, Patricia L. Wood and husband, Mark of Littleton, Colorado; sons, Robert A. Miccio and wife, Cristina, of Winchester, Virginia, Thomas A. Miccio and wife, Maryanne of Butte, Montana; grandchildren, Eric Wood, Michelle Silk, Maria Miccio, Claire Miccio and Angela Wood; great grandson, Kessler Silk; sisters, Louise Trested of Lynbrook, New York, Ann Mitarotonda of Franklin Square, New York and brother, Louis Miccio of Florida.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
