Frances Haines “Budz” Clark, 93, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia.
Mrs. Clark was born March 19, 1928, in Slanesville, WV, the daughter of the late Finley and Virginia (Morris) Haines. She was employed with Rich Foods until her retirement in 2001. Mrs. Clark was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Winchester where she was a “prayer warrior” for her church. She loved the Lord with all her heart, loved reading her Bible and going to hymn sings. She also enjoyed going to yard parties, family reunions, fishing and gardening, especially roses, which nobody was to ever touch. Above all else she loved her family. She loved spending time with them and cooking for them. Every one of them were near and dear to her in their own special way.
She married Preston Arlington Clark on September 21, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1975.
Surviving is are her sons, Bruce Allen Clark and Kenneth Eugene Clark (Donna); her daughter Judy Clark Spurling; son-in-law, Gregory Alan Bishop; daughter- in-law Bonnie Clark; grandchildren, Stacie Bishop Amari (Thomas), Tim Bishop, Matthew Lee Clark, Jamie Lynn Clark (Janie), Julie Anne Clark Sine (Jason), Jennifer McDonald Glass (Randy), Janice Braithwaite, James Braithwaite, Tony Clark, Rachel Clark (Dylan), Sarah Petty (Will) and Ernie Crouse; great-grandchildren Claudio Thomas “C.T.” Amari, Gregory Bishop Amari, Mason “Mace” Cole Sine, Branson “Bub” Alan Glass, Jalynn “Jaybird” Courtney Sine, Caitlyn “Cay Cay” Marie Glass, Ethan “Pappy Jr.” James Sine, Haven Braithwaite, Conner Crouse, Thomas Braithwaite, Weston Crouse, Cayden Crouse, Karen Anderson, Robert Anderson and Preston Moffett; her sisters Dorothy Miller and Thelma Dellinger; son-in-law, Gregory Alan Bishop and her many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband Preston, Frances was also preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy K. Bishop; sons Gary Lee Clark and Robert W. Clark; daughter-in-law Debra Clark; son-in-law, Dave Spurling; and her brothers, Walter, Ernest “Doll”, David, Richard, Eugene, Gene, Donnie and Lester Haines.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Sunday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Vernon Bray officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons and great grandsons.
A reception will follow the committal service at West Oaks Farm Market.
