Mrs. Ritter was born in 1930 in Capon Bridge, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ralph and Eitha Kerns. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stephens City, Virginia.
Her husband, Samuel B. Ritter, whom she married on June 25, 1949 in Winchester, Virginia, preceded her in death in 1997.
Surviving are sons, Steven B. Ritter and wife, Jodi of Stephens City, Virginia and Richard B. Ritter of Martinsburg, West Virginia; grandchildren, Cynthia R. Jones and Cathryn R. Michi; step-grandson, Travis E. Luttrell; six great grandchildren; and brother, George C. Kerns of Florida.
Along with her parents and husband, Samuel, Mrs. Ritter was preceded in death by a sister, Anna V. Grubbs and daughter-in-law, Karen S. Ritter.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with a memorial service to follow at 7 pm with Pastor Eddie Edmonds officiating. Private entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Winchester, Virginia.
