Fran Wright

Frances E. Wright, 83, of Winchester, Virginia, died, Friday, December 21, 2012 at her home in The Plains, Virginia surrounded by her loving sons Kyle and Keith, daughter Terri, brother Dennis and her cherished puppies Emma, Molly, Brandi and Izzie.

Fran was born at home on October 25, 1929, in Frog Eye, Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ras T. and Mary Louise Wolford. She was a member of the first graduating class of James Wood High School in 1951 and went on to be employed at Ma Bell as a Phone Operator in New Jersey and Washington DC from 1951 to 1968, then at Sears in San Jose, CA and Winchester, VA from 1972 – 1996. Mrs. Wright was a member of the Second Opequon Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, Robert B. Wright, whom she married on August 17, 1958 in Arlington VA, preceded her in death on December 9, 1997 and by her sister Nancy Wolford, June 7, 2011.

Surviving are two sons Kyle Wright, wife Terri, son Brandon of The Plains, VA and Keith Wright, wife Connie, children Tina and Josh of Modesto, CA; sister Wanda Scannell (Tom) and brother Dennis Wolford (Lorraine), both of Winchester. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Justin, Jared and Jenna; and countless friends, family and loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Alan Morrison officiating. The interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Wolford, Kevin Wolford, Brandon Pennington, Dave Robertson, Keith Wright, Art deWerk, Johnny Marker, Scott Brannon and Mike Wolford.

Memorial contributions may be made to Round Hill Fire and Rescue.

I always remember her innate ability to always offer a sweet genuine smile whenever you were around her. As the wedding photographer for Kyle and Terri's wedding, she was the most obliging and gracious Mother of the Groom. Her presence will be missed on this earth. God bless you Fran!

My fondest memory of Fran is when I began dating my husband Robert. His mother Nina and Fran were friends for 44yrs. I went to dinner at her home and remember the delicious clam chowder Mr Wright made. I was a little nervous but her sweet smile and innocent comment she whispered in my ear that night made me feel very welcomed in her home.Keith and Kyle your mom was genuine and loving.
