Mrs. Florence E. Hildebrand, 77, of Winchester, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center, Winchester, Virginia.
Mrs. Hildebrand was born in Clearbrook, VA, in 1932, the daughter of the late Harrison Eugene and Myrtle Mauzy. She was a graduate of Stonewall High School. She was a housewife, but worked as a secretary for Plumly Lumber Company and at the Visitors Center on Interstate 81. She was a lifelong member of Brucetown United Methodist Church and was a very active member of the United Methodist Women. She was also very active doing volunteer work at numerous organizations in this area.
She married her husband of 59 years Gordon C. Hildebrand, on September 7, 1950, in Brucetown, Virginia.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathy Headley and her husband, David of White Post, Virginia, and their children, Joshua Headley, Ashley Headley and Holly Crockett; a son Michael Hildebrand and his wife Susie of Richmond, VA and their children Brian Hildebrand and Daniel Hildebrand; a great grandchild, MacKenzie Crockett and a sister, Ann Sibole and her husband Paul of Wooster, Ohio, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Brucetown United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert Schoeman officiating. Interment will be at 12:00 Noon graveside at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday at Omps Funeral Home.
