Finis L. “Lem” Flowers
Finis L. “Lem” Flowers, 83, of Woodstock, Virginia, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Flowers was born in 1930, in Dyer County, Tennessee, the son of the late Everett G. and Oma Flowers. He was the owner and operator of Flowers Construction. Mr. Flowers was a builder, Masoner and farmer in Maryland and Tennessee. He was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in New Market, Virginia.
He married Ingrid M. Christiansen on November 24, 1995, in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Cathy Roddy Mills of Silver Spring, Maryland, Jennie Lynn Allen and husband, Larry, of Newbern, Tennessee, Ramona Gail Erickson and husband, Charles, of Dyersburg, Tennessee; son, Clayton Lemuel Flowers and wife, Lana, of Brookeville, Maryland; six grandchildren, Shawn Mills, Andrea Khandagle, Leslie Warren, Chris Allen, Catherine Robitaille, Joseph Robitaille and Jeremy Robitaille; and seventeen great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Szymaniak of McKinney, Texas, June Keen of Cooter, Missouri, Kathryn Delgado of Lexington, South Carolina, Sharon Rogers of Steel, Missouri, Jessica Perry of Prescott, Arizona; brothers, Virgil Flowers of Atoka, Tennessee, Benny Flowers of Troy, Missouri, Danny Flowers of Patton, Missouri and Keith Flowers of Steel, Missouri and his first wife, Evelyn Flowers Spencer.
Two sisters, Maxine Burk, Faye Mulhern; one brother, Everett Flowers, Jr., and step-mother, Mary Frances Flowers, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 4:00 at New Market Seventh-Day Adventist Church, with Pastor Shane Anderson officiating. Interment will be private.
