I first met her at Mcdonalds when my parents would have breakfast and coffee with the "older set." She was such fun to be around. She always wore colorful hats or scarves and always had a smile on her face. Her laugh was infectious and I admired her artistic abilities. She was such a sweetheart and I will always remember her fondly.

Mrs. Cone was one of the proud mothers of the 13-year-club at Handley. She never squealed on us for skipping school to go to the speed shop. That was just one of many kind acts. Thank you for great memories. Phil Ritter

What a pleasure it was to come to know such a wonderful person. Her kindness & love for others was readily obvious. She knew I was an “old time” letter writer so she quickly gifted me with beautiful cards showcasing her daughters artwork. She was a lovely person, who will be greatly missed. My thoughts & prayers are with her family.....Sincerely, Camilla Eury

We are so very sorry for your loss. She was a really great lady who brightened up Stephens City McDonald's for a long time.
Christopher McFarlane left a message on May 9, 2020:
Ms. Earlene was a special lady, I knew her from her sharing the same favorite Breakfast spot as my family... Yes McDonald's in Stephens City. I'd always open the door for her and then help her to her car before she left for Heartfield's. Even after she left we were able to remain pin-pals sending letters and cards back and forth. I've attached a pic of her and I the last time she came to breakfast before moving up to Frederick. She told me this was her first selfie. She will be missed.

A better friend one could not have. Earlene was a joy to know and a joy to remember, We worked together at the local fabric store for years. Her creativity and energy was reason to go to work. A laugh a day was one of her daily contributions. Earlene was beautiful and had a beautiful spirit. She was a lovely human being. I have missed her in recent years . Now I know she is in God's hands-where she knew she would be some day. Rest in Peace my friend. Thank you for the memories.
