Fay Menefee Keenan, 76, of Strasburg, Virginia passed away Friday, March 15, 2019, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Mrs. Keenan was born in 1942 in Luray, Virginia, the daughter of the late Franklin and Fannie Menefee. She was a graduate of Luray High School. She worked at IIDI, a humanitarian aid organization, in Vienna, VA and later retired from FEMA, working at Mt. Weather. Mrs. Keenan was previously a member of the Winchester Country Club and enjoyed golfing. She loved to travel, and lived with her husband in the Philippines, Oman and South Africa. Mrs. Keenan enjoyed crossword puzzles, antique shopping, and most of all visiting with family and friends. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Winchester.
Her husband, LTC Daniel Richard Keenan, whom she married in 1985, preceded her in death in 2010.
Surviving are sons, Eric Ettare (Heather) of Arlington, Virginia and Wayne Ettare, Jr. (Nung) of Chantilly, Virginia, both from her first husband Wayne Anthony Ettare, Sr.; grandchildren, Anne Ettare of Chantilly, Virginia, Irene Tiffany Ettare Santos (Alvin) of Manila, Philippines, Richard Inhar (Holly) of Front Royal, Virginia, Sloane Raye Ettare of Arlington, Virginia; two great grandchildren; sisters, Harriet Showalter (Jim) of Greenville, South Carolina, Jeanette Cummins of Lynchburg, Virginia; and brother, Hanson Menefee (Bonnie) of Luray, Virginia.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 23rd at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with a funeral service at 4:00 PM. A continued time of food and fellowship will follow the service at Omps Reception Center, South Chapel. Interment will be private.
