Evelyn V. Sargent

Evelyn Virginia Milburn Sargent, 79, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, in her home.

Mrs. Sargent was born in 1932, in Green Spring, Virginia, the daughter of Janney and Opal Milburn. She retired from Rubbermaid in 1994, after 27 years of service. Mrs. Sargent was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Her husband, William J. Sargent, whom she married in 1949 in Hagerstown, Maryland, preceded her in death on June 19, 2003.

Surviving are three daughters, Shirley A Todd, Barbara C. Sargent, Julie M. Baumgartner-Sargent all of Winchester, Virginia; her son, William J. Sargent, Jr. of Winchester, eight grandchildren, Sarah Todd, Tiffany Baumgartner, Nicole Baumgartner, Kalley Boreman, Taff Sargent, Benji Knee, Heather Leight, Grayson Teets; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her sister, Shelva Jackson of Winchester, Virginia.

Six brothers preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Toby Allanson; Bruce Bishop, Nathan Leight, Tim Sargent, Mickey Adams and Jermichael Sargent.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral home, Amherst Chapel.
