Evelyn Dolores Pitcock
Evelyn Dolores Pitcock, 83, of Star Tannery, Virginia, died Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Pitcock was born in 1932, in Frederick County, the daughter of the late Leonard and Edna (Griffith) Williams. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1952. Evelyn was a member of the Second Opequon Presbyterian Church where she was active with the Woman of the church Group. She was employed as a secretary for the Commission of Revenue, retiring after 30 years of service. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to so many. She will be forever remembered for her love of faith, family, all things cardinal related as well as her beloved cat Pierre. In her younger years she was an avid bowler and was a member the Sunshine Bowling League. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son Boyd L. Pitcock and his wife Lucinda of Star Tannery, Virginia; two grandchildren, Andrea Ramey Gomez and her husband Edison and Megan Pitcock Tschappat and her husband Brad; five great grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Jaxx, Felicity and Trenton as well as many extended family members and close friends.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Hinkle B. Pitcock Jr.; her son Mark J. Pitcock; sister Ann Williams Smith and two brothers Donald and Robert Williams.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Omps Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Michael Williams officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Winchester, Virginia.
